Luke Edwards: 21. Protagonist. Crew cut black hair. Sideburns. Slightly thin due to malnutrition.
Luke is a caring, kind young adult living in Donquest. Luke’s childhood best friend is Gabriel ever since he moved in next door. At school, Luke was very timid and quiet usually teased by Gabriel for his silence. He was convinced to join the Children of Iscar by his friend at age 18 to support his parents financially but only lasted three months after an incident involving him forcing to shoot an innocent child in Great Arabia. He quit believing what he did crossed the line and wouldn’t be himself again. For the next few years, Gabriel resorts to vigilantism by killing, torturing, or executing government officials, police officers, or fanatics. He becomes known as the Vigilante of the Night for whom many people grew fond of him despite his identity not revealed. Luke thinks Gabriel is too reckless believing it is unnecessary. It is the wrong way to go about it. At age 20, his parents were both killed and executed after Luke’s father was caught criticizing Iscar and the People’s World Government. William personally executed them leaving Luke scarred and falling into depression. Gabriel does not hesitate to comfort Luke and has him live with his family instead. When things start to get rough with hunger much more common, Luke and Gabriel agree to steal food from the plaza. They are caught in the act and both are arrested. Gabriel’s family is executed in front of him by William like how Luke’s was. Both are sent to hard labor for three months. After Luke returns to his home, he realizes his best friend hadn’t. Fearing the worst, he thinks he is dead. In his memory, he resorts to graciously helping people in need as opposed to violent vigilantism. His deeds get him called the Angel of the Night by the local citizens and the media. As time passes however, it becomes increasingly difficult for him to survive on his own knowing the challenges especially with food shortages leading up to First Strike. Gabriel Ellis: 21. Major character. Light brown hair. Stocky.
Gabriel is a young adult who can be sarcastic, aggressive, ruthless, calculated, and swears quite often. He’s also ironically very organized and clean. He had two parents and a sister before their untimely deaths after him and Luke steal rations. Gabriel was always motivated to join the military, specifically the Children of Iscar to support his family. He joined at the same with Luke but chose to stay longer despite hearing what his best friend was forced to do. After Gabriel speaks to Luke realizing how he feels, he chooses to take matters in his own hands resorting to vigilantism, assassinating government loyalists who harm innocent civilians. Despite William’s efforts to catch the Vigilante of the Night, Gabriel is never caught. After Luke’s parents are murdered, he offers to let Luke stay at his home with the rest of his family. He and Luke are later arrested for stealing rations at the plaza. Gabriel’s actions result in the murder of his entire family including his sister leaving him a broken man. Alexis Duran: 20. Major character. Judith’s best friend. Red hair. Gray eyes.
A trusty member of the Resistencia and a former psychology student. Alexis is a rather sweet, curious, and charming individual who has a tendency to flirt with men close to her age. She is also Judith's best friend and is often quite the opposite of her in terms of personality mirroring Luke and Gabriel's friendship. Her personaility is quite deceiving however as she is an expert at archery from a very young age and has accuracy which surprises Luke. As they say, don't judge a book by its cover. Maxwell Greene: 58. Major character. Gray and black hair. Scruffy beard.
The leader and Overseer of the Resistencia, Maxwell can be manipulative and deceptive while also being charismatic and persuasive. A former military general who served the People’s World Government and a caring father to Michael Greene and Melaney Greene. Maxwell had been eternally loyal to the People’s World Government before Iscar’s rise to power. After dissension with Iscar accumalated realizing the genocide he was committing at will, Maxwell rallies stragglers in the South Continent to amass people to fight for his cause and reclaim the world for them. His determination to bring about his own vision has garnered him a rebellion unlike any other that has risen to stand up to Iscar’s twisted dystopian government. Signature weapon: Sabre |
Melaney Greene: 17. Major character.
The daughter of Maxwell and Michael’s younger sister. Melaney is a high tech wiz and an expert in computers and electronics in general. A well trained hacker taught at an early age, Melaney can be isolated at various times due to her extensive amount of work given to her by her father. Her expertise proves invaluable as the seeds of the World Revolution are planted and keeps the bridge of knowledge between the outside world and the Resistencia. Melaney can be easily irritated but can also be very compassionate. |
Michael Greene: 19. Major character.
The son of Maxwell and Melaney’s older brother, Michael has a passion for music and signing which provides some method of entertainment during turbulent times. He is friendly and caring to others although he often teases her younger sister. Simultaneously, Mike is very polite to Luke even as a stranger to him. Mike’s involvement in the World Revolution is sparse, but his talent and personality resonates with everyone keeping spirits high. |
Donovan Pickman: 63. Major character.
Born into a family of wealth, Donovan is the first and present Grand Prelate of the Brotherhood of the Templar. As a result of the Brotherhood’s laws, Donovan can be very forgiving to those he sees valuable to his movement. However, the Grand Prelate can be very critical of his own knights calling them out for their own errors hoping to embetter them in a world marred by selfishness and greed. At age 19, Donovan became Grand Prelate and the Brotherhood gained undeniable traction that thousands of people supported their beliefs. His philosophy has proven to be a potent threat as the capital city of Solomon was devised to become a permanent home for him and his followers. It became a safe haven to those who desire to oppose Iscar’s twisted dystopian world. Signature weapon: Royal Sword |
Micah Santos: 19. Major character.
The Guardian of the Brotherhood, Micah grew up in a family of six as the oldest of four siblings, all three younger sisters who he knows little of their whereabouts. Raised as a fisherman by his own father, Micah is often referred to as a friendly and humble individual whose loyalty to the Brotherhood is undeniable. His compassion, innocence, and open mindness to others makes him an easy person to befriend. Despite his generous attitude, Micah is a very skilled templar himself typically carrying a spear and a harpoon on his back. He is also considered a bold leader, one who would never have a tendency to run away from a fight and take full responsibility for his mistakes. One of his primary goals is to find his sisters who he feels optimistic that they may still be alive. This possibility drives him to keep striving for something more than just serving the Brotherhood. Signature weapon: Spear |
Jakeob Vickers: 22. Major character. High Templar. Black spiky hair. Slightly dark-skinned. Is thankful for Luke saving Gabriel's life which is why he chooses to spare his life. Despises tensions between both the Resistencia and Brotherhood. Very fond of Micah. Tries to make the best of any situation.

Isaiah Wright: 27. Major character. Leader and Prelate of the Brotherhood. Comb-over style haircut. Short boxed beard. Hates the Grand Prelate for keeping Luke around as an ally. Very troublesome for the Brotherhood at times disagreeing with them. Can be mean, harsh, unwelcoming, and untrustworthy to some.

Ellenore: 42. Minor character. Long black hair. Trusted scout and spy for the Resistencia who tells the rebels what is going around the world. Luke can’t seem to figure out if he trusts her or not.
Conrad Swanson: 30. Minor character. Resistencia doctor. Can be serious at times, but he’s caring to his patients.
Finn Huckinson: 32. Minor character. Paladin. Black hair with a white streak. Talks wittingly like a professor and is intelligent.

Johnny Lancaster: 12. Minor character. Cyrus’ younger brother. Clear brown hair. Green eyes. Young scribe in the Brotherhood and Micah’s apprentice. Mature for his age, but can be whiny and annoying to others if he doesn’t get what he wants.

Morgan Greene: 76. Minor character. Maxwell’s father. Elderly but strong for his age. He has been trying to get to his son’s hideout after he ordered for his return. Has a lot of bad blood with his son. Honest, humble, and wise.
Billy: 7. Minor character. A small boy who Luke offers a can of soup after he is mugged from a group of thieves. Cheerful and innocent to the heart.
Iscar: Age unknown. Main antagonist. Ruler and President of the People’s World Government. Declares himself the Messiah and Prophet of the People. His followers believe he is immortal as he seems to never age.
William Oblad: 39. Antagonist. Warlord of Donquest and Iscar’s right hand. Bald and tattooed face. Cold and evil. Remorseless. Inhumane.
